Yota Kakuda was born in 1979 in Japan. Moving to London in 2003, he gained experience at various design studios including Shin and Tomoko Azumi and Ross Lovegrove. 2005-2007, he studied and obtained an MA at Royal College of Art, Design Products under Ron Arad and Kenneth Grange, where he was awarded a scholarship from the Japanese government. Moved back to Tokyo in 2008 and he worked for MUJI as a product designer. 2011, he established his own studio, YOTA KAKUDA DESIGN in Tokyo.
